totoro:
unfortunately we cannot take pictures inside the museum... so here are some outdoor pics:
the museum was amazing. no wonder we had to buy the tickets a month beforehand.
there were intricate and wonderful displays explaining the workings of animation, rooms showing the artist's work table (ada kuas-kuas, buku-buku, foto-foto, cat air, bahkan water color drawings di dinding dan di atas meja. nggak ada pembatas, tapi nggak ada yang pegang-pegang, apalagi bawa pulang. beda banget sama di indonesia ya.), small neko basu (cat bus) complete with makurokurosuke to be climbed and jumped on by kids, and a bigger cat bus for grown ups to sit in.
then there was the shop museum yg ramenya kayak pasar, padahal barang2 nya nggak murah. and we watched a short movie - kujira tori - about kindergarten kids on a fantastic imaginary (but real! crystal was so scared when the schoolroom floor got flooded) whale-catching adventure. they gave this ticket at the entrance to enter the mini movie theater (each person got a different set of movie scenes):
we climbed up this big outdoor stairway:
and met the robot from the sky!!!
alien runes. greetings earthlings, etc., etc.
we stayed for more than 4 hours, so i could take a picture of the robot at dusk:
awesome!
and i'm so glad i bought the museum guide book set, because it came with this water colour poster of the museum design:
it was the most awesomest museum i've ever visited.
